New York, Opening of the Pauline Year
30 June 2008 The Pauline Year opened with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration in Blessed Sacrament Parish, Staten Island, just a short distance from our house. Representatives of the Daughters of St. Paul, Society of St. Paul, Pious Disciples and Pauline Cooperators all participated in the Liturgy.
The initiative was deeply appreciated by both the parish priest and the laity, who turned out in greater numbers than expected for the event.
The Mass, animated by an excellent musician and choir, was celebrated by Fr. Ernesto, SSP Provincial Superior, and many concelebrants. During the Liturgy, three Cooperators from New Jersey made their Promises.
Everyone was very happy to open this Pauline Jubilee Year and the extraordinary turn-out for this event witnessed to how highly esteemed the Paulines are in the Staten Island diocese.
